Story behind the song
This is one of several variations and not necessarily the best, nor is my quick reading of the music and words necessarily what should be done with it (if anything). It's just an interesting Victorian Scottish art-song, clearly a poem in origin, entitled 'The Nabob', which uses Auld Lang Syne as a handle.
